Active on the London club scene throughout 1967, the Good Thing Brigade attracted interest from EMI A&R man Tim Rice before changing their name to Jason Crest and signing with the Philips label at the end of the year. Over the next eighteen months they came close to the big-time with a run of excellent singles, although some of their finest performances - including three-minute lysergic pop nuggets like "King Of The Castle' and the Procol Harum-influenced "Teagarden Lane' - were inexplicably rejected by Philips and didn't get beyond acetate stage. This anthology rounds up every known Jason Crest studio recording, and comes complete with a stunning 16 page booklet that tells the band's story and features numerous previously unseen photos.

"For pure English psychedelia and catchy pop melodies, there were few finer exponents than Jason Crest, and almost everything here delivers. Great sound, full liner notes and lots of pix make this one more or less essential for British psych freaks." (Ugly Things)
